DXF import facility on our Hurco VM20i

Although we've had our Hurco machine for a while now, we are still exploring its capabilities and something we wanted to get to grips with was the ability to import complex profiles via .dxf files. These are drawn on our CAD system and then transferred via a USB memory stick to the machine. From there, parts of the profile can be selected for the various depths that they are to be cut at until all features have been programmed. It's a much quicker process than programming geometry by individual feature and there is much less chance of making an error whilst programming. As a test piece, we produced what's shown in the photo - a 600mm by 200mm x 12.7mm thick aluminium tool plate plaque. It pretty much sums up what we are passionate about - home produced quality!
